EMDR therapy is the most powerful approach to resolving the trauma of painful experiences I have encountered as a therapist. My own work with clients has become exponentially more effective because of the hours I have spent in consultation with experts in the field.
I have found that learning how to provide EMDR therapy is far more like baking than cooking. If you try to bake a cake by throwing in a little bit of this and a little more of that, as you would with a spaghetti sauce, you will end up with a very sad sort of cake. Successful baking requires knowing ratios of ingredients and adhering carefully to formulas.
EMDR therapy is similar in that a therapist needs to understand how to follow the Standard EMDR Protocol in its entirety. Once adept in the standard protocol, a therapist can then broaden their skills to effectively address more intricate cases. There is no cookbook for treating complex trauma. The therapist must have the skills to assess thoroughly, navigate treatment with appropriate timing, and fully articulate why each adaptation is necessary.

Group consultation is offered alongside Precision EMDR course material in three pathways, depending on your preference for and progress toward EMDRIA Certification. Each pathway integrates coursework with live consultation, applying what you are learning directly to your cases.
Option A: EMDRIA Certification Pathway
Part 1 only, 5 sessions, 5 months
For therapists pursuing standard EMDRIA Certification or are interested in structured group support in metabolizing and integrating the course material. Paired with Decoding Complex Developmental Trauma using EMDR Therapy, Part 1.
